Many third-party add-ins add to the Startup programs list that also contribute to performance degrade. Therefore, it is amongst the greatest measures to disable these programs. You can do it as follows:

  • In Windows 8, you can access the startup items list directly from Task Manager that can be opened by right-clicking the Taskbar, and then selecting ‘Task Manager’, or it can also be opened by using the ‘Ctrl+Shift+Esc’ command.

If all sound notifications have to be disabled, go to the ‘Sound Scheme’ dropdown and select ‘No Sounds’.
  • Click ‘Apply’ to apply and save the changes, and close the window.
