Having previously discussed on how to speed up the Internet connection using Internet Accelerator software and fast DNS server, now just add how to put IP address and DNS are achieved in windows 7.

To change IP address and DNS server in Windows 7 is the same, because they both are in the same place. When compared with Windows XP slightly different way.

Step or How to change IP address and DNS in Windows 7

To change IP address and DNS server to fit with what we want, then we have to change the network protocol settings in Windows 7. Here’s how to change IP address and DNS in Windows 7 (implementation is applicable for all types of windows 7):

  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. Select Network and Internet
  3. Then select Network and Sharing Center
  4. Then go to Change adapter settings in the left menu
  5. Then it will be presented all kinds of internet provider you will ever use (if you use more than one type of provider). Then select which provider to use for internet connection at this time. Ex: I use the Wireless Network Connection.

  6. It will appear the Network Connection Properties window, then select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)> and properties.

  7. Then it will be presented a window that is used to change IP address and DNS server.
    • If you just want to change IP address only, click use the following IP address and leave blank DNS.
    • If you just want to change the DNS server only, click use the following DNS server address and leave blank IP address.
    • If you want to change both, then click and change both.

    You can obtain fastest DNS server and change your IP address to anther country to get the maximum internet connection, of course, with tips and tricks that have been discussed previously.

  8. Restart windows first, to make sure IP address / DNS server has changed.
  9. To further ensure the changes and DNS server IP address has changed, you can use the command ipconfig/all through DOS. If you do not know please do the following: Start > type RUN in the search > enter > type cmd > type ipconfig/all > look at the result.
